Success and Billboards

How do you successfully drive traffic to your business or engagement by using advertising billboards?

Here are 4 keys to remember:

1. Outdoor billboards needs to be in a high traffic area where your demographic is driving. If you are unsure how to find your demographic or what stats to look for visit your myspace page then go to advanced settings under the category of find friends. Here you will see race, wages, and various other demographic type criteria. Use this as your idea wheel.

2. The sign needs to be creative and eye catching. Think why should a driver look away from traffic to read my sign?

3. Needs to have just the right amount of information to get your point across. Remember, they are driving and they need to be watching the road, therefore you will only have their attention for a couple of seconds.

4. Track your traffic. When setting up a marketing campaign find a way to track your responses. Something like, mention this ad and receive 10% off. This way you will know where to continue to invest your money.

Bonus: Before you go forking out the cash to pay for your spot keep in mind the underworld of bartering that is alive and well. It is rare when a outdoor advertising company is completely sold out of signs. With this in mind think, what service or product can your business give their company to reduce your cost or to get some outdoor media for free?

If billboard ads are too costly for your company explore various alternatives such as: shaker boards (the guys shaking signs by the street), truck billboards, and signs that you stick into the ground.
